It is going to be crucial for the Las Vegas Raiders to add depth to their interior offensive line this offseason, especially with free agency looming for center Andre James and guards Greg Van Roten and Jordan Meredith.

The Raiders have a great opportunity to do so in this year's NFL Draft, as there is an abundance of talent at the guard position in this year's class.

Guard Christian Haynes of UConn is one of the best guards in the 2024 NFL Draft class and would be a great fit for the Raiders.

Haynes started all 12 games at guard for the Huskies in his final collegiate season. He and UConn's offensive line finished ninth in the country in sacks allowed with just 12 all season. Haynes was named to the Associated Press and College Football Network All-American Third Teams.

Pro Football Focus gave Haynes an overall grade of 80.2, a run-blocking grade of 80.1, a pass-blocking grade of 82.5, and a zone grade of 89.2 for his 2023 season.

The season prior, Haynes started all 13 games at guard, helping lead an offensive unit that finished 33rd in the nation in rushing with 191.0 rushing yards per game. He received second-team All-America honors from Sporting News and third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press for the season. PFF gave Haynes an overall grade of 83.9 for his 2022 campaign.

Haynes started in all 12 of UConn's games in both the 2021 and 2019 seasons. The Huskies' 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Haynes played two games in his redshirt season in 2018-19.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
